took the honors in the West DC Short Best All Rounder competition 2008.

28/09/08 Blenheim Palace opened its grounds for a day of cycling events
Set in 2,100 acres of stunning parkland in the heart of the Oxfordshire Cotswolds, the
event starts with a competitive focus. It kicks off with a 20km Time Trial which is open
to seasoned and first time trialists alike. On a course closed to traffic, the 20km route
involves three loops of the magnificent Park passing Vanbrugh's Grand Bridge and the 134ft
Column of Victory.
Entries closed at 300 with riders starting at 30sec intervals, A superb ride by Charles
placed him seventh in some illustrious company .

competition for the West District.
Charles Zanettacci has a strong lead at the top of the rankings with Jason Bohin, Trevor

to be ridden diamond-hf.com riders will be looking to improve on their positions and

The course was changed at the last minute due to roadwork’s, organizer D.Keene came
up with a very fast alternative at short notice adding more DC which made for a three lap
route.
The day was hampered by a strong westerly wind which although not a head wind on the out
leg more of a nuisance across your left shoulder made it the hardest part of the course.
Four diamond riders started yielding three PB’s,Charles was the quickest despite
suffering with cramp.

The weather today was truly awful strong gusting winds and heavy rain greeted the four
Diamond riders that made the trip down to Wales and Derek who lives local making five.
Derek and Joe were the only two to brave the elements, which although awful yielded some
pretty fast times.
Derek put in a super ride despite still suffering with his hip from his recent accident to
record a short 56, followed by Joe with a 58.

Firstly we would like to wish Derek Rodgers a speedy recovery after being knocked off his
bike while out training “Get well soon mate”.
The event went off in beautiful warm sunshine with only a
slight breeze, fastest on the day was Charles with a stomping 52min ride to finish eight.
Happiest on the day would be Mark who topped off a double PB weekend by breaking the hour
for the first time “Well done from all at the team”.
Trevor and Ger had a close battle with 1sec deciding it as they recorded their first sub
hours of the season.

The Team fielded six riders in this event as a try out for the Welsh Nationals which is to
be run on the same course, the weather stayed dry and not as windy as of late.

Well the sun shone and the wind blew, 40mph plus on the way out and crawling home on the
return made for a damn fine workout. Jason starting his season today, and Trev,Joe and
Mark improved their times from the earlier event on this course. Hats off to the Winner
and the sub 1hr guys “awesome”.

Diamond-HF 10 Mile Time Trial April 5th
The diamond-hf 10 ten mile time trial took place on a cold and blustery day with the later
riders having a nasty sleet and hailstorm to contend with. No super fast times today
with Ben Anstie winning the men's race with 21:15 and Astrid Gibbs winning the ladies race
with 24:10.

Severn RC Hilly on the U601
Third round of the hardrider series saw a good field
taking part in the revised course of 19ml not the usual 23ml due to roadwork’s on a
very pleasant morning.
